Having cycle the France en Velo this summer I'm thinking of cycling North to South of Italy. Am planning on camping along the way and would like to take in as many gravel trails as possible.

Any blog links or route recommendations would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Look up sentiero Italia, lots of roads and gravel ideal route to follow follows the spines of the Alps, appenines etc...

Also look up torino - nice event, would be a great start, then across liguria (Alta via) then you have the appuane and appenine mountain ranges... From there on I don't know the area... But its on my bucket list...

Thanks all. The Via Francigena looks very interesting! Although it's not what I had originally planned it deserves some further research.

Look at the Tuscany Trails route from Massa to southern Tuscany.
