determined to make a Hope Expander cog designed to fit a Shimano free hub fit a Hope free hub, file in hand and cog clamped in the vice i hacked away expecting the worst only to come away victorious! Some times all that is needed is strong alcohol to make a bodge go well 😉

Would that be a vote for Henry Westons then?

Aren't Hope and Shimano freehub bodies designed to fit the same cassette cogs anyway?

What else did you have other than the cider?

Hope freehub said use the Shimano pattern.

Ok, on the guide to buying the cog on the large website that i bought it from it gives you Sram or Shimano compatibility which i read as compatible with either cassett not the free hub. If you look at a Shimano free hub its ridges are rounded not raised squared off sections like Hope's. Thats why it wouldn't fit.

Even when you're right, on the internet you're wrong. Perhaps 😉
