Checked the BBC forecast before heading out and it said light rain then heavy rain for the whole time we were due to be out so dressed accordingly, but...
It didn't rain. At all. Not once. Brilliant ride too; Mam Tor, broken road, Castleton, Pin Dale quarry descent, Hope Quarry, Shatton Moor, Aston, Hope Cross, Jaggers Clough, Edale, Win Hill farm climb, Hollins Cross, back to Edale, Mam Nick, Rushup Edge and a pint on the way home. Fantastic. Thanks very much weather.
Goretex stayed in the camelbak all night, which then leaked so my jacket is hanging up to dry. Hey ho.
Can you bring the same weather gods of good fortune with you on Saturday?
Fank yoo.
ps. slightly bricking it now.
Hayfield, Jakes, Rushup, Roych, Hayfield for us. Surprisingly it didn't rain there either which is fortunate as my riding mate didn't have a coat. Not quite the balmy atmosphere of previous years (we make a point of doing this at least every summer on a weekday) but surprisingly good considering the forecast. I was glad for my waterproof shorts though. Absolutely pinned the Roych descent though.
Steve, I reckon you're in for a bit of rain at some point but that's good as it'll stop you overheating. I'm glad you want me in front of you if you're going to poo yourself, the thought of watching your shorts go brown is about as appealling as it sounds.
Rushup/peep o day & chinley churn then back! Anyone come across an exposure front light
