It's old ladies and geese who seem to be the most aggressive. Altho Last year I did make a detour thru a field to avoid 2 swans with a bunch of very young cygnets blocking the towpath, I decided that would be asking for trouble.

Look out for the swans. especially the Muslim ones with ray guns
tinytimbo: It's along the Leeds-Liverpool canal. The last picture is the bingley 5 rise locks, so I'm presuming B.N.ana commutes from the Leeds end. It looks better in pictures than when I normally go down there.
I live in Bingley and commute to Skipton and back, so it is the nicest most scenic bits of the Leeds Liverpool canal. My only climb is indeed the 5 rise locks.
