After following some really helpful articles in this site, I've set about servicing our Islabike Rothan. Unfortunately it's revealed a damaged cone in the front wheel hub. Is anyone able to recommend where I can buy a replacement from? Already tried Islabike and they're out of stock of wheels for the foreseeable.
Failing this my next idea is to buy and replace with a front wheel from a frog Tadpole.
Any help get this bike back working much appreciated. Thanks.
if its just a front hub can't you buy any old thing with the right number of holes and lace the wheel back into it?

The OP is unlikely to know how to buy the correct hub & replace it, otherwise they wouldn't be asking the question...
Just take the wheel into your/an LBS and ask them to replace the hub or supply a new wheel if that's the cheaper option.
Does the hub itself have any part numbers on it? That would make your search easier.
Unless it's a particularly weird hub, if it's just the cone, you'll probably find most hubs use something close. You need a bike shop that is willing to search round in a box of cast off parts for a cone that will fit. If you put up a picture of the hub/cone someone on here might be able to help.
Hub is a Quando, only visible marking is H8 or 8H. Thanks.
I'd probably just put it back together with some decent grease (mobil xhp 222) unless it's so bad it siezes. It'll never see any significant load or speed. If its got a cage, replacing with loose balls will help.
As scruffy says replace bearings and grease well. Unless the cone is split/broken (I'm assuming it's just a bit pitted) it'll be fine for a 3/4/5/6 year old. A bit grumbly at worst. You should see the 60+y/o hubs on my commuter. ;o)
In case that's not good enough Here's an article showing how to restore a cone which could prove useful but as it mentions you'll be taking off any surface hardening so may be counter productive in long run.
Even if the cone is bust there's a good chance you'll be able to find a replacement at a decent LBS.
Good luck.
Thanks to all for the really useful comments.
Seems like the cone thread is damaged, as struggling to get it back on the axle. A trip to our LBS is in order. Won't leave it so long before servicing next time.
Just looked at youngest's Frog bike. That is on Quando hubs too so would probably be a straight swap if the wheel diameter and axle length is the same.
