Recent bike acquisition - Does this look right to you? Shape looks a bit suspect but I can’t quite work out how this would have occurred at the hands of a toddler!
It still works fine so this is more for interest really...

Does this look right to you?
Er, no!
Shape looks a bit suspect
Is it comparing it with the other side that gives you that notion?
I'd be changing those bars while you're at it. Unlikely the weight of a toddler would snap them, but would you risk it? Definitely wouldn't trust them on an adult bike.
Hope it wasn't expensive, that little snippet of a photo makes it look knackered.
This happens when the bike gets dropped. Do it a couple more times and the end will snap off. Happens to all of them in my experience, until the kids learn to not drop the bike...
Specially designed for little hands innit. 🙂
Yep, that's bent.
May as well replace as it will earn it's keep when it comes to resale.
Ludicrous resale value. Just paid 120 quid for a rothan although will sell for exactly the same!
Is that the balance bike? Presume an over the bars toddler incident and they landed on the bike. My little girl hasn’t bent a lever like that yet on her Wiggins balance bike but she has scratched it in quite a big way crashing a few times!
Unless Isla have asked tektro to make something for them specifically that’s probably a really cheap lever to replace.
LOL - i made an XT brake lever look like that when i crashed in North Wales last summer!
Isla will sell you a new one for not much money.
Thanks all! I did wonder - I’ll look at a replacement. Bike is fine, well used but cleaned up nicely. £30. She wanted £25...
It is slightly bent but not as much as it appears
That's an older tektro lever which is meant to be that shape I think for little fingers
The Rohan has a different lever on the latest model now
