Would anyone be able to let me know an actual "real life" weight of an Islabike Beinn 24 please? My Daughter has a Carrera but I'd like to know if it's worth upgrading to a Beinn 24 which I could get for quite a good price?
Thanks in advance
David
What does it say on the Isla site? I remember weighing my daughters and it was pretty much as they stated
Been a while now, but when we had one it was lighter than anything else in 24" wheels. Even lighter once we fitted folding rocket rons, although we also added a chain guide.
Islabikes website says 9kg - just looking to see if that is right.
If it is then I could save 2kg on daughters bike - make it easier to keep up with her brother!
It's probably worth it as a 2kg saving is massive when they are that small. If you are buying it secondhand then you'll likely sell it on for not much loss if it's in good nick once you are done with it in a year or so.
No scales available but I reckon it’s a bit heavier than my nice road bike (which I know is 7.4kg) and a bit lighter than my winter bike (which is 9.5kg). That’s a Beinn24 with the knobbly tyres, bottle cage and silly bell.
Brilliant, cheers all
Got the Islabike Beinn 24 - weighs exactly 9kg
Cheers all
