Just brought Isla Bike 24" for my 8 year old, curently has street tyres fitted at the moment, so want to fit some decent MTB tyres ready for xmas. Have seen a lot of people recommend Rocket Rons, but not sure if they are too wide for the rear, anyone tried it?
where did you bring it from and why do you want 26 inch tyres for a 24 inch bike?
the Ron's are not that wide, no issue on 17mm rims
Kenda make a 24" Small Block 8 - it's what Islabike fit. My kids got on fine with these, much better than the heavier slick tyres the bikes came with originally. The child that fits a 24" Islabike would have trouble extracting much fun from a bigger, knobblier tyre, IMHO.
My 8yo is quite rangy and fitted an Isla 26". After she didn't show much confidence in the original tyres I popped on some old Kenda Nevegals and she loves the extra grip and bit of cushioning. She didn't express any problem with increased drag.
Thanks guys, brought the bike second hand and yes, it's 24" wheels, sorry, late night posting, and thanks for the replies, sounds like we'll give the SB8's a go.
wou;dn't bother with SB8's unless its dry hard pack or tarmac.

I wouldn't write them off. I've run them through the winter (Scotland/Aberdeenshire) including a visit to the Strathpuffer and they're far better than you'd expect given the tiny blocks. Anything other than sticky clay and they were surprisingly good. (Sticky clay - not a chance!)
