Not necessarily at trail centres but over the moors to pick off the best single-track descents on your enduro rig.

Yes it is. In fact, unless you use a penny farthing, it's not authentic cycling

Unless you run naked and bare foot from your door you've given up on life.

Bikes and clothes are cheating and for the weak.

Anything that makes getting my DH bike to the top is cheating, but I still do it

Incredibly some people put their bike in the back of a car, or even a van and drive somewhere to go cycling.

Cave!?! Wandering the land in hunter gatherer mode, obviously barefoot and naked with only your favourite stick and imac pro for work.

if its not a bike park then yeah, probably, especially with an enduro bike, the whole point of them is that they can pedal to the top, the 180 mm zeb/38 gbarpoons are stretching the definition of enduro really

These people are single handedly responsible for destroying the planet. Most of them didn't even manufacture their own bikes using handtools. People are lazy and will always choose the easy option.

I use the uplift as a downlift too. Saves sooo much faff👍

I've used my ebike at BPW using the uplift

It was great - the flat bits at the top for some of the runs, the uphill bit through the woods to get to one run from another, the pedal back up to the bus when you come out right at the bottom and are knackered towards the end of the day.

Pig to lift it on the trailer though

I know someone that went to the Alps with his road bike and would do a climb then get his wife to give him a downlift in the car as he didn't like descending.

Anything I perceive as easier than how I like to do something is giving up.

Thibaut Pinot?

Only a 'roadie' would think that. Lots of MTB riders just want fun, and can't be bothered with climbing - it's too much like hard work.......and I don't blame them.

Climbing is about fitness.....descending is about skill.......

Surely ebikers have a man to do that for them?

I've found with mine that pedalling up is not an enjoyable experience! I guess I bought into what the internet says about them being capable climbers nowadays, but 35lbs plus big slow tyres makes it a slog regardless of geometry. Trying to sell/trade it for something less gnarpoon-y, probably end up with a hardtail again!

I love an uplift/lift assisted riding. More time and energy for the best bits.

Are you suggesting something like using a van to get to the high point of an area, ride down, get picked up at the bottom? Do people actually do that? Can't think of where it'd work, not that many big continuous descents where you can get a vehicle near the top.

I'd probably start mtbing again if I could get a downlift.

downlift

There must be somewhere in Europe where you could team this in a car with a roadie friend.

Drop roadie off at the bottom, they climb, you drive to the top.
Park at the top, ride MTB down.
Roadie gets to the top, drives down.
Repeat.

Quick! Somebody design a "dating" app for lazy DHrs and scardy-cat roadies to pair up...

(Only partly joking! I've contemplated driving up to a local ski hill with my MTB in the car, leave the car at the top, ride downhill then home - on the mountain bike - then get changed into my roadie gear then head back to the ski hill on my road bike to retrieve my car. I've not actually put this into practice yet but I'm hoping to retire soon so may need to do so if I'm riding solo whilst everyone else works 😎)

Or, I could give up and get an ebike...😉

We did exactly this last year with a mate on the col d'Allos. There's a car park with a viewing point on the pass, so we drove up there and took in the view. When he arrived we tossed him the keys and rode the first section of the Trans Verdon back down into the valley.
