Planning on zooming out somewhere interesting for the weekend, thought I'd convert my ebike to tubeless as I've been putting it off for ages. Upon deflating the tyre trapped water looks to be leaking out of the seam in the wheel.
It's a DT Swiss H1900 jobby, so I'd hope it would be fairly tough, H being the ebike specific wheels. I'd assume this is just the water that went in via the spokes when riding in Scotland a couple of weeks ago (it was pretty wet!). I take it that bit is supposed to be sealed though?

Guessing the cheap rims are just pinned, so this shouldn't make much difference?
That seems normal for a pinned wheel rim but it does make me wonder if you will ever get it to work tubeless :o)
It's fine.
Make sure your tubeless tape is wide enough to fully cover the inside of the rim and crack on.
As above, get the correct size rim tape, give the rim a good clean first and then fit, if done properly then the tyre and the rim tape will make this air tight, but as always, test without sealant first to make sure the tape is doing its job well enough!
Cheers all. Seemed to go up fine, loads of water trapped in the rim bizarrely. Letting it drain out of the valve hole didn't seem to work, so I just covered the opposite side and blew into it until it was empty*.
The factory tape looked good, which I guess contributed to the water getting stuck in there.
Edit: * Apologies, that sounded a bit more saucy than intended.
