Looking for replacement for xtm8000 of 2016 era. I have a couple of brand new shifters and want mechs to match, these seem like a decent bet, newer better tech, Ok its deore, but they are probs as good yes? and half the price of an xtm8000.
The real question is - from china, taiwan, HK, fake or not?

It is fairly safe buying through eBay. It doesn't guarantee they won't be fake, far from it, but if they turn up and are clearly fake you'll get your money back.

Possibly, but a quick google of Deore 5100 throws up a couple of bricks and mortar UK shops claiming to have stock for pretty much the same price, with the bonus you'll potentially get it within days, rather than some time in August.

I'd hope they're real at that price, I have both of those and paid under £40 for each

I would go for dodgy given shipped from China and no box and seller joined 2020.

A couple of the pics show rough spots on the forging under the finish, you just don’t get those even on the entry level stuff. Got stung for decent price but not crazy cheap 9-speed mech a month or so ago, nothing like the pics when it turned up.

Glad you could find a UK brick and mortar seller, much safer bet 👍
