The SLX cranks used to have a 2x version, but I don't think they were any different chainline-wise.

Yep. They're also known as 2x10 cranks.

Otherwise, buy a triple and ditch the unwanted ring.

2x9 cranks. Have a set on my bike. Was 2x9 then 2x10 with same rings. Now 1x10

But as above chainrings are interchangeable so just by the "modern" version

Any chance you're after a 40/28 XT M785 double in black with 175mm arms? I've got one brand new in box with a BB.

I was more looking at alivio or deore as I've bought a new frame and will be transferring all my bits onto it, and muy current sram tripple is past it's best and I rarely use the small ring.

Will that bb fit this?

I had 2x9 with Middleburn XC Duo cranks in 2001, way before it was fashionable 😉

Haha, my bikes a bit of a frankenstien machine, hence why I grabbed that frame, it started life as a 3x8 carrera, straight steerer, has since been upgraded with carbon rims on hopes, Epixon fork, which I don't want to get rid of.

Frame is now battered visually but still structurally ok, and I find myself not using the smallest front ring on the tripple as the newer 9 speed cassette and shifters are good.

So I grabbed that frame linked above as it seems a bargain.

So I'm not sure what to do crank set wise, I don't really need a triple and it might save some weight getting a double. Current low end sram tripple is due for replacement anyway.
