I have heard a rumor that there is a new Mmmbop coming, is it true? If not does anyone know which of this years ragleys is the replacement, I'm after a frame that will take a 140mm fork, preferably in Aluminium.

Isn't the Troof the MmmBop's replacement?

The Troof seems to take 160-180mm forks though, the blue pig does look good, but I was really after aluminium, wish I had bitten the bullet when CRC were doing them at £154 now 🙁

Aye - we sold loads of mmmbops and are still getting enquiries (from the UK and abroad) for them. Seems they just weren't popular enough to retain in the range.

I think they would have sold a lot more if it hadn't been for the silly name.

I remember hearing that the blue pig outsold the mmmBop 10:1 before CRC slashed the prices. Probably explains why it's not in the 2011 range.

Are there any other 140mm aluminium frames for around the £300 mark?

A poster on the BikeRadar forum claims he has had an email from Brant confirming this.

The topic heading is "Ragley mmmm Bop or On-One 456?"

Mmmbop was discontinued 🙁 Didn't sell well til they put the big discounts on. Blue Pig is still around though.

There is a new mmmbop coming out. It'll cost £249 and the rear brake caliper will be on the seatstay, not the chainstay. The new colours are still tbc.

Where have you seen this confimred please? I thought the Troof was the 'replacement'

I emailed the designer and owner of Ragley, Brant Richards. The Troof is definitely not the replacement for the mmmbop. It's slacker, heavier, and optimised for 150-170mm forks, instead of 130-150mm forks.

Until I see official confirmation or an announcement, rather than forum speculation, I'll take it that the mmmbop is no more!

After all if there was to be a replacement, surely it would be mentioned somewhere on their website?

Yeah, I just got an email back from Ragley (very promptly, I only sent it this afternoon), there will be a replacement but not until much later in the year, guess they're fairly busy at the moment.

Which year?

Exactly.

Hope to get something out for "autumn" - maybe earlier, but unlikey.

Hehe, that was a bit strange seeing something I wrote on another forum copied here! Anyway, sounds good on another model, I'm yet to finish my current mmmBop build yet though 🙁
