Happy Christmas all - hope you had a good’un.
Anyone know if there is an alternative to Cytech or a different provider to Activate?
Looking for equivalent of Cytech 2.
They are fully booked. It would also be good to be a bit closer than Guildford. I am based in Kent and Stafford, Oxford and Guildford appear to be the only options...
Velotech is starting to take over from Cytech for being more relevant and cheaper. From their website there is a trainer in Brighton. You would need Gold to be equivalent to Cytech level 2.
Aye, Velotech is the most obvious alternative. I did my Gold training at Glenmore.
Velotech Platinum is equivalent to Cyctech Level 2.
Cycle Systems also do courses.
If you need it for a specific thing I would check what is recongnised . I would also check what you want to be able to do as most of the courses really only cover the basics.
Glad velotech has gained more traction over the years. It used to be cytech or nothing, but Graeme at velotech has put in a huge amount of effort to develop it (and is a really nice guy too).
I used to really enjoy teaching the velotech courses, very well laid out and paced.
I thoroughly recommend Cycle Systems Academy. They do various accredited courses including ones at least level 2 equivalent, though are Devon based so not great for Kent. Sean is an excellent teacher and the facilities are great.
Thanks guys - I'll take a look at Velotech. Definitely feels like there's at least room for a couple more in the market
Yes, sorry it is platinum for Cytech 2 equivalent - too much Port tonight!
