Got a big birthday coming up and want something to last as a present.
I'm torn between T handle allen/torx set or a new workstand.
Is the Parktools the one to go for then ? or another ?
Feedback>Park. I'm sure there will be other brands out there, but I've used those two and prefer the former.

This fits on neatly and will complete your life:
Shop around the UK for a comparable price. Best workstand I've ever used.
I've used numerous Park and other brands (to clamp on seatposts) and found that unless you are buying a very expensive workshop grade Park, they're all pretty much the same.
Buy some Draper Allen T handle keys, they're decent spec and value.
Beta 951 sliding tee handle allen keys and the same in a t25 torx
Park isn't close to being the best when it comes to work stands. Most bike shops use Kestrel stands and it will probably outlast you. Not cheap though.

I've never used a Park workstand but my Feedback one is brilliant, I'd recommend them to anyone
I’ve just had the same debate with myself (well, with google really). I ended up going for the feedback sports sports mechanic stand as most reviews seemed to say it was a bit better than park. Probikekit had the best price - ordered it on Friday and it turned up on Sunday - no Brexit taxes or delays.
It’s very impressive - massively better than the cheapo £30 stand I used to use. I’ve never used a park stand so can’t comment on that but I’m happy with the one I got.
+1 for Kestrel. Indestructible and awesome. Bloody expensive though.
Equally my park stand has been going for probably 15 years.
I've got a Park PCS 9 that replaced my ancient lidl stand that finally died. It's pretty useless and barely folds away for storage. I'd swap it for another one from Lidlington given the chance. The only plus is that I bought it from Evans back when there were 3xvalue vouchers. I wish I'd paid the extra in vouchers for the next model up at least!
The FACOM were making me tingle.... they're rather pretty.
another vote for the Feedback Sports, bought two decades ago when it was Wrench Force and in daily kitchen workshop use since then, need to get some new £15 clamp jaws as the original ones have perished, tsk
Get P-handle not T-handle Allen keys / torx tools. Some manufacturers call them different things but you want ones with an allen bit on the short end. I've got some nice Bondhus T-handle ones but sometimes I need more leverage.
As for workstands, pricing takes the piss right now. I was going to say my £30 workstand has been totally great for over a decade. It has, but OMG it now costs £180. Ridiculous.
I'm not sure how that could possibly be helpful.
Feedback stand is the one, I have the sports elite
I also have those fancy beta Allen keys, they are also very nice
I've struggled without a stand for years so I'm also in the market for one.
From googling, the Feedback stand seems to get the best reviews but there are a few versions of it.
I’ve got the basic Park Tools stand with 2 legs (in a V-shape). Had it for about 10 years. It’s been dragged around country/Europe in the back of a van (for 3-6 months a year), abused, used heavily and regularly, left out in the rain overnight at times. The thread of the clamp has been greased a few times, GT85 and silicon juice lines sprayed on the sliding parts of it gets sticky.
Still going strong and the only thing I would change is to add a magnetic tray (but never got around to it.
I can’t comment on any other brands (although my brother had a cheap one from somewhere and it kept tipping over so he ditched it.

PCS-9 here, it's as basic as it comes.
Does the job for occasional use but if I was using daily (or even buying again) I'd be looking around.
The FACOM were making me tingle…. they’re rather pretty.
But not as pretty as these...
How does the Feedback Sports Sprint stand cope with bolt through front axles?
I have a Facom P handle set. They are rather nice and half the price of the T handle ones.
I have a Park PCS10 and it's worked well for me.
PROS - sturdy, stable, feels like it will take a beating, can take a heavy bike, quite flexible in terms of bike position, good clamp, additional accessory tool tray can be attached (if you like that sort of thing)
CONS - heavy and awkward shape to move around, awkward to fold/unfold, still quite big when folded for storage, currently quite expensive
In summary I'd say it's better left open in one place rather than folded and stored when not in use. Definitely not good for transporting.
I haven't used any of Feedback stands so can't comment in terms of comparability. I guess their relative lightness would be a bonus for many.
Another vote for Feedback here. I didn't have a workstand before it, so have nothing to compare it to; but it just works. It's lightweight, but is robust and just works
Park I had was stable but bulky and heavy. Maybe fine if it's permanently up.
Feedback Pro Elite clamp is brilliant but super expensive and the tripod base needs to be in the right alignment to be stable. But it's light and folds up well.
I have a park tool pcs 10. Its big, cumbersome and heavy. It doesn’t pack up small. But its stable, bomb proof and easy to use.
I leave mine up all the time in the garage. It’s definitely not one to pick if space is short and it needs moving about regularly.
I have a Park PCS 9, one of the old versions though, purchased in 2015. I second the poster above - it is pretty rubbish. However, I only paid £50 for it from CRC with a combination of vouchers so not that bothered. It isn't particularly stable and is a pain to put up and down.
Park used to mean "the best" but I think a lot of that nowadays is just brand awareness. There are much better options out there (some rather expensive though, as seen above).
I've had a cheap Park Tool, an expensive Park Tool and a feedback one and I'd definitely go Feedback as the clamp itself is much easier to operate and as a freestanding unit I found the base much more versatile and stable than the equivalent Park one.
But if you want a wall mount, which I have now, then the park one is pretty damn good too and cheaper.

My park stand came from a bike shop that closed down had it myself for 23 years plus the time it was in shop think at the time they were £200 but works great and you can buy spares for it which I have done new rubber clamp and yokes they do not look as strong as this one is these days.
Feedback Sports definitely better than Park for work stands... I've owned both and ended up selling the Park.
In fact, I've just treated myself to a new Feedback Sprint, which I think I prefer to my Pro Elite. May be selling the Pro Elite if anyone's interested.. it's the same as this one: Feedback Sports Pro Elite
How does the Feedback Sports Sprint stand cope with bolt through front axles?
It comes with adapters for 12mm axle. Fork onto stand - axle through. Done.
Feedback for a stand, I have the Mechanics stand - doesn't have the fancy sliding clamp but it's brilliant:
Feedback Sports Mechanic Stand
And for new wrenches, I got these from Wiggle as the Park equivalent was out of stock:
LifeLine Pro Sliding T Bar Hex Set
They are amazing quality for the price - way better than a lot of the Park stuff. Nicely machined and a really nice tight fit.
They have the bonus of the tapered rifled end too for worn bolt heads.
