Just fitted a 12 speed GX setup and the chainring is very close the rubber innertube I have wrapped around the frame (I know...) I think it's a standard non boost 6mm offset, can I check this on the ring?

If so would getting a 3mm offset give a little more chainsuck security?

Yes and yes. Pretty sure this is marked on the outer edge of the chainring.

Found it Bigginge - stamped in black on the inside. I am indeed 6mm - so £11 from rose bikes and I am going to give 3mm a go.

£11 seems like a very good price for the chain ring, was that a steel NX part or the aluminium GX type?

Steel but that doesn't include shipping, you can get them for £18 from UK shops too.

They were cheap from Evans a couple of months ago.
