found this crack in my slot drop out frame

Being it’s a cheap frame in the first place anyone have any experience of getting this sort of repaired?

It can be fixed and shouldn't cost a fortune but it depends how much you value it as it can be replaced quite cheaply.

As above, depends how hard a slot dropout Inbred is to replace I guess, and if you’ve got one of the nice ones or plain 4130/‘DN6’.

Also probably depends who’s around in the way of metalworkers and frame builders how practical it is, plus you’ll probably be looking for a paint job afterwards.

As it’s a 26” wheeled frame unfortunately they don’t make them anymore

😱 Just saw that!  Looks like On One have dropped the Inbred, only 29er slots left, no other options. Well, you obviously like the frame as you’re asking, so that changes the picture a bit!  On one of my local forums, the figure £35 was being tossed about this morning  to repair a Ragley where one of the seat stays had cracked across the weld to the seattube, not sure if that’s mates rates or about going price though.

I don’t really have time to do repairs at the moment, sorry!

Where are you based? Someone may know someone in the area.

I’ve just phone a local welding company, they didn’t sound over keen but I’am going to drop it off this week

fingers crossed if not I’ve seen a dialled love/hate which may be its replacement i’am not sure how they compare ?

A local frame builder fixed a frame I owned by filling the tube with brass around a crack - trying to weld or braze just the crack is likely to fail quite quickly, I think. I'd use someone used to repairing frames, not just a local general welding co.
