IF the voltages and polarity are correct - theres a good chance that the + pin on the charger side wont be touching the inside of the battery connector.
I presume you've not actually plugged it in?

Did you read the 'CAUTION'' label thats visible on the back of the charger?
'for use only with InformationTechnology Equipment'
