I invested in some shiny new Eastons last year before I read the hub reviews.
I've had to play around with the tensioner as it enjoys self loosening, and additionally, the wheel unscrews itself...so the cap that holds the freehub in place also likes to unravel (not good for keeping things sealed). I've solved with a little TLC and threadlock.
However, now the freehub, even when aforementioned cap is tightened right up, and with the cassette locked fully down....moves around. There is lateral play between the freehub and consequently the cassette can be moved, when on the bike, by about 0.5cm either way.
Everything is tight and I have tried everything...
Is this a new bearing in the freehub or does it sound more sinister?
