Got some free time later, legs are heavy and tired, but fancy going out. Sadly, without a shock in the Meta, I have only the road bike to select...
Or... the Wifes Spec Myka. I bought it for her for Xmas... she's ridden it once....
26" though... and with non-disc brakes... and a HT...
Is this part of your 'Queen of the Mountains' training plan ? 🙂
Ride it! Its a bike.
hey, my wife's been riding my titanium Pegasus for the past year. Works both ways, I say 🙂

Just fancied some trails instead of road this afternoon really. I won't be taking to the jump gully that's for sure.
My Wife's got a Myka and I really like the way it rides - only ridden it round the garden when fiddling with it and once to the Post Office, but it fits me really well.
But, would love to sneak it to Thetford and give it a whizz round. But would get massively shouted at!
Well considering I removed the pedals 6 weeks ago and I've not had to put any on it yet, I think i'll be OK on the getting shouted at side of things.
The only thing is that I could have probably sold it as 'new' until now hahahaha. Women.
ride it to cash-converters 😀
LOL don't tempt me... if I hadn't bought it for her as an Xmas present I'd have sold it and the road bike and bought that Pinnacle Ramin on the other thread !
Took my wife's new Swift for a [s]razz[/s] safety check round Leith Hill last weekend.
For her sake, I think it will require a programme of regular, thorough and extensive safety testing.

That's a hell of a name for it.

I know that feeling!
I think that her bike has probably done 200 miles at the most in about 4 years. But, it's my bikes that are cluttering up the garage (the ones that get ridden), rather than her ornamental bike!
Oh, and I get scowled at every time I wind her up about using it.... 😆

...and a year's a hell of a long time, good job Ti is so comfortable and resilient. etc. etc.
My wife got a Myka on CTW about 2 years ago.
After extensive upgrades I am now happy to ride it 🙂
APF
I built my Mrs a Scandal which just happens to be the right size for me too.....
LOL some of these don't count.... just because you built it for the wife doesn't make it a girls bike... this is proper girly specific...

I'm not surprised, forcing her to ride 26"! This is 2014 afterall
Would you feel OK about another man riding it?
I'd slate him every second he was on a girls bike.
I've been wearing my OH's pink Giro Hex for the last 12 months, embrace your metrosexuality!
only ridden it round the garden when fiddling with it
Did the neighbours complain?
The best way round this is to buy/build the other half something you'd happily ride yourself....i got my significant other a Ragley Piglet, she thinks the name is cute and loves the bright green colour (sadly she then added the same luminous green coloured grips and pedals), she has no idea its a great bike and was bought as a covert second bike for me!
She thinks its nice of me to ride it so often, i tell her i'm keeping it all running and in good condition for her.
mrs rocket has an immaculate GF Big Sur which I infrequently send over road gaps and super booters
I have ridden my wife's bike on occasion. But as she is 5ft and rides a small I find school kids pointing and laughing at me...
My Teen2 rides a Giant Talon 1W. He's never complained about the pink detailing. It's a bike. It should be ridden.
It is for me cos Mrs Fog is considerably shorter than I which makes me feel like Dumbo on a tiny circus bike.
Have been know to take my wifes steel rockhopper for a spin around Cwmcarn occasionally, just to remind myslef how much better disc brakes & decent suspension are.
i've threatened to take the missus Pinnacle Willow out. I built the frame up on some old Pikes, Hope XC's, Hope Mono 4's and 1x9 with XT cranks - tis a sweet ride for throwing around the woods. She's ridden it once too 👿
It wasn't terrible. 20km loop. Forks are dire! Brakes remarkably acceptable. Weird gearing, largest cog on rear is about 10 teeth more than the one below it.
I may flog the road bike and use this in winter!

I'm 5ft 2ish, the husband's 6ft 6. It'd be awesome being able to share bikes, but if he goes on mine he looks like a clown/bloke riding a kid's bike, and as for me on his... well, generally his saddle is my chest height. I get some odd looks if I'm ever spotted pushing his bike along...
This thread is needs a photo of you on the bike ..
Unless it's a euphemism then go for it.
My wife goes mental if I even pretend to ride her bike - YOU'LL BREAK IT, YOU'RE SQUASHING THE TYRES, THE TYRES ARE GOING TO BURST, YOU'LL BREAK THE FORKS and so on. Then shortly afterwards she'll be eyeing up my Day One and saying how 'if we put the seat down I'll be able to ride it too, are you sure those dangerous clippy pedals don't come off it?'. Quite sure sweetheart, quite sure.
quite surprised how not a million miles of my Strava pace some of todays rides were on her bike hahaha. I wasn't trying for the 2nd half of the ride, but still, even they were not a million miles off my PBs hahaah
