Just had to remove one with a rubber mallet, which is fine when you have the tools with you but less so if you are in the middle of nowhere.
Can it be replaced with a more conventional axle?
No, there wont be anything for a conventional axle to screw into.
With the bolt thru that came with my exotic fork , the threaded end that the bolt thru will screw into is not part of the fork but a completely separate part https://www.carboncycles.cc/?s=0&c=43&p=1760&tb=001
Not sure if you can buy them on their own
I was locking some years ago, in the end I got rid of the forks because I believe that axle was responsible for elongating the hole in the locking side. It didn't matter how I tightened it there would be a slight looseness feel to the wheel.
I did find this, couldn't find anything local.
I bought some OEM REVS in the end.
Just found this
Good find!
