Hi all,

Are these a scam? I'm considering hitting pre order on the 2 sided ones.

Always been told anything too good to be true useally is...

Or are they going to be a game changer?

Anyone have any inside info- when might they ship etc?

Well you got me re-interested in buying one so I asked about shipping through their chat.  This is the response"

Hello, Good Morning! This is Glenn. How can I help you today? Currently, we do not have the exact dates yet of the deliveries by batch and the customers included in each batch. An official statement will be released soon about the pending deliveries. After a couple of tests, we are a step closer in resolving issues in inconsistencies in power readings. We will still continue with the tests until it is ensured that the power meter that was promised functions as it is supposed to be. We also want to extend our apologies due to these setbacks and lack of technical information however we are determined to pour all of our energies in having this fixed as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience as we will have an official announcement on the delivery dates. Please see the most recent update at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1468298434/cycling-power-meter-at-a-breakthrough-price/posts/2447769

I think I'll wait a while.

Well reading this

https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/04/iq2-149eur-first-power-meter.html

and then this

https://cyclingtips.com/2016/11/when-a-crowdfunded-product-fails-the-rise-and-fall-of-the-brim-brothers-power-meter/

and given the proven products already out there, there's no way I would put any money into a vapourware power meter

Have a look at the Powerpod. You can pick one up for £199.

I use this. You can swap it between bikes easily and the support is excellent.

I believe they will deliver, the DV review was sound and honest. I also think that this will be a while yet. If you need a PM now, nuy elsewhere. If you want to speculate on what may be PM changing products, invest. The Brim Brothers and Limits PMs are the exemplars of what not to expect 😉

I use a powerpod an aeropod an SRM and swappable Favero Assioma single sided. I also have Stages and PowerCal (which I rather like) and a KICKR. I'm not at all bothered by dual sided PMs, just reproducibility and to a lesser extent, accuracy.
