So.... my lovely swish xtr brake lever on the left is having a bit of a moment - just general use has caused it to pack in and it seems no one has any used replacements around... sooo new lever it is then. No one has any left handers left new (apart from one place online who want £70 for one! Psshh!!) so probably just go silver XT.
But then I'd like my levers to match - I'm not a monster! 2 new XT silver leavers then, seems reasonable price and easy to fit and bleed.
Oh wait... the newer Ispec B levers won't work with my now 'antiquated' xtr shifter which means a new bloody shifter as well!! All of a sudden one lever replacement is going to start costing me near a ton by the time I've got new bits, oil, bleed kit, SHIFTER!
I love Ispec as an idea, really tidies things up but you'd have thought a modicum of backwards compatibility would have been a smart choice! No problems other way round of course! Noooooo! Old brakes and new shifters, not a problem is it!
