Any of you 'sturdier' gentlemen wear these? I see their sizing chart says XL is for up to 39cm calf - mine are around 45 cm, and my thighs are also a bit bigger than they recommend
will they likely be okay, or will I end up dying?
thanks
I am not a gentleman nor particularly a gentleman of a sturdier statue. I do however have some Ion Lite pads.
I'd say don't do it. They aren't adjustable at all and the thigh end is a bit tight for me and can get uncomfortable. It also makes them a pain to get off when they're clammy and dirty.
Try before you buy. I have some K-Pacts and they size up on the snug side of the quoted sizes. If the K-Lites are similar they aren't going to work for you
i have rugby legs too and </span>was in an ion shop last week, gutted i didn't try some on as they look nice and all the guides in finale were wearing them. however they did seem quite small in the flesh!
I too am blessed with the legs of a pack horse. I use RaceFace Flank in XL and they work a treat. Never used Ion pads, but the ones a friend have don't seem very generous in proportion to the RaceFace ones.
My calfs are 48cm, with thighs of almost 1 million cm.
Not quite a pack horse like some of you guys at 44cm but I like my Troy Lee Raids in XL - ION KPact were a bit tight.
FWIW I ended up with endurance mtr’s and they fit fine and are comfortable
