My good mate has just got a very nice carbon fs and wants to keep it as fresh as possible.

So...Invisiframe the best protection system?

Thanks.

Had my alu framed Arkrose done when I got it last year - 6 weeks later had a big over the bars, cartwheel down the trail incident and the bike is still immaculate. Wish I'd Invisframed my face, to be honest.

+1. My Oiz still looks brand new. I Invisiframed it before it turned a pedal.

Yep. Easy to do yourself. Clean frame with ipa then loads of soapy water on the pieces and they slide on and then you squeegee out the excess water and you’re good to go.

I cheated and got the LBS to do it. It's time consuming and fiddly and requires patience, none of which are my strong points.

It's bonkers expensive but very good.

If you google around you can find which product they use. It's made by 3M and available on amazon etc. I did my SO's cotic with it and it looks the same as my bike which is invisiframe. Getting those lovely rounded corners is slightly trickier of course, but the price difference is huge.

Tis great stuff, my two year old orange looks brand new.

It was a therapeutic 3 hours to fit, sod trying to do the cutting myself.

I also did the same. I don't have the patience to do this or skill. But, once I wash my bike after a ride it looks pretty much brand new. Apart from keeping your bike fresh i think it add a little resale value as the frame under it will be pretty much box fresh

I invisiframed my 5010 from new, It was by far the most I ever spent on a bike so want to look after it. 4 years on it still looks brand new. As for the cost of the invisiframe kit, I honestly can’t remember what it cost, but it still makes me smile every time I pull the bike out

I've just done my bike with Indibike's kit, for a cheaper option.

I think it's vinyl and not exactly the same stuff as Invisiframe or 3M but it went on in the same way (soapy water, time, patience and a hair dryer) and is invisible! No long term review yet but it seems good and tough.

The full kit is almost as expensive as Invisiframe but I got the basic hardtail set which is enough for me - covers the top tube, down tube, back of the seat tube and all stays, plus smaller cable rub patches and lots of left over material for wherever you want.

Search for 3m 8671. Viking and self adhesive both sell it, but were low on stock last week. It's mind blowingly expensive stuff...
£584 +vat for a big roll. Yes, over SIX HUNDRED QUID for overblown sellotape ( yes. I know it's not really, but it still melts my brain)

I paid about £70 last week for the 3M tape to do my new Occam. I did wonder why the heck I didn't just buy invisiframe for the same price. Hopefully I'll have some helitape left. ( Ordered 3 metres of 75mm and 3 metres of 100 mm wide)

Would agree with all of the above, definitely do it. My wifes 5 year old carbon 5010 was Invisframed from new and had been thrashed and crashed and the Invisiframe looked terrible, covered in scrapes and dings. I stripped off the Invisiframe when came to sell it and the bike really did come up looking like new. Was very impressed. It’s not difficult to do but does take a bit of prep and patience.

It’s worth every penny - the outlay compared to your sweet new frame is minimal - I won’t be buying a frame without doing it ever again

Whether you go for invisiframe or a cheaper DIY alternative, its well worth doing one of them.

If you look at invisiframe and think that at nearly £100 for a full bike its too expensive, dont then do nothing, spend £12.99 on a roll of helicopter tape from ebay and address the main areas as best as you can be bothered to.

I've got a £475 hardtail frame on order, going another £100 seems a lot to protect the paint, when I can do 90% of the job for £13.

Its also well worth doing your kids bikes with the cheap stuff from new.

Anybody datatagged a frame with the UV etch then invisiframed over the top?

It's what I'm planning to do when my new bike turns up, but wondering if you can still read the etching after the invisiframe has been applied?

Helicopter tape from eBay ftw for me.

All the frames I've done are mostly round tubes.

I might be less enthusiastic about it on a swoopy carbon frame.

I went for sheets of viny stickers on my fork legs. Bit more cheerful than plain black rockshock legs.

I've not used invisiframe but I've covered a whole steel hardtail frame with helitape, it's a pain to cut and measure well so I'd definitely buy an invisiframe kit if I could to save a lot of hassle. Definitely worth doing though!
