Help! Gear issues on my ON-ONE Race 29. Seems to be that the internally routed cables are snagging in the frame. My LBS has tried to blast through with air and lube...but they're still sticking. New Cables, new outers (which end at the frame rather than being routed all the way through the frame) - but the problem being that the snagged cable refuses to drop - losing me the bottom cog or two on the cassette.
Anyone experienced anything like this? Any solutions?
Sram rear mech by any chance.
sram was my first thought too.
check the inner runs through smoothly before connecting the mech. is the shifter sticking a bit?
Yes - X9 rear mech. Are there known issues? If so, what? The spring seems strong. There doesnt seem to be lateral play in it either.
but - having now externally routed the cable, it works fine. The problem seems to be the resistance in the frame not allowing the cable to run through without causing enough friction to prevent dropping on to lower cogs. Shifters are fine.
Very common for sram x9 and lower to struggle with the last one or two sprockets, Can't believe it's still a problem though been this way for years.
would that not still be the case if the cable was externally routed though?
