hi folks. im building a frame up and the rear mech cable exits the rear of the chainstay. There is a sleeve for the cable to go through but there is nothing stopping the outer cable from dissapearing into the frame or to butt up against.. am i missing something??

what's at the other end, near the headtube? is it expecting a full length run of outer cable?
Is it inside? Only visible once you pull the guide out?
You'd normally get a press in cable stop like this Cervelo one:
Per the above my Cannondale Caad12 had a press in plastic outer cable stop. Confused me when I went Di2 as I tango ugh I couldn’t get the wire through until I realised the whole thing just popped out.
Either that or it’s expecting a full length cable outer.
Thanks for all the quick replies. there is a plastic cable stop at the headtube end so wouldn't be expecting a full run of outer. I think there needs to be some sort of cable stop like the cervelo one.. just need to try and source one!
I can't help you on this specific one but as someone who's frame is dead from an internal cable sawing through from the inside I would urge caution to get it right!
The CAAD12 rear mech cable is straight along chainstay so can't cut through if you use the frame stop and a ferrule (but it can cut through the cable entry point in the downtube).
That setup looks a recipe for failure if the cable isn't sheathed.
Managed to get a plastic cable stop/insert that did the trick. thanks for all the quick replies 🙂
