I have a Canyon Aluminium frame with an integrated headset. I'm changing the upper and lower bearings as they had become gritty.

The lower bearing (by the fork) came out without any problems.

The upper bearing (by the headset) was stuck in the frame due to corrosion. I prised it out, but the top part on the bearing case and bearings split, leaving the bottom part of the bearing case in the frame.

I've sprayed with WD40 and left overnight, is Plusgas any better as I'm planning to get some tomorrow?

I have tried tapping out as suggested in this post, but after an hour it's still stuck.

I plan to contact Canyon and Local Bike Shop on Monday, but wondered if anybody else has had the same problem and managed to get the bearing case out of the frame?

Thanks

Wrap a towel round the headtube and pour kettles (multiple) of boiling hot water over the towel.File a flat head screwdriver tip down to an edge and bend it 90degrees.Use this to get under the bearing and work your way round until it comes free.
