Renewal time.

What do people do about bikes with different wheelsets? Training (stock) wheels vs race wheels is a significant £ difference.

Do you quote the stock build for value or the upper end? Would the wheels potentially be treated as a seperate 'item' as they were not part of the original bike and an upgrade?

Race wheels live in the loft so it is more for accident cover or maybe theft from a motorcar than theft from home.

If you want the bike covered with the go faster sportive racing wheels then that's the amount to get insured.

Simples.

You're not likely to get many household policies that cover you for racing.

What Al said, all my bikes are under the value limit the insurers set, if one was nicked I'd be able to claim for whatever was on it at the time.

Spare wheels could (i assume) be legitimately counted as another item, regardless of what was on the bike at the time.

Price up all the parts and insure that.
