I have 10 days from the 5th of August to do as I please and intend to spend it cycling. Inspire me with ideas on potential adventures.

Cycle the Danube through amazing countries, or former Yugoslavia and the Dalmatian coast, or the Baltic states.

Would have said morocco but August may be a tad warm...

Not that I didn't spot the UK bit but personally, I'd be looking further afield...

I've thought about that, but getting to Lands End is a pain.

On road you could do a lovely (and challenging) route through northumberland, the dales, the peak, the length of wales and finishing in Bristol with an easy train journey home?

What would the HT550 be like as a tour?

Maybe hug the coast down to snowdon area. Only about 350 miles cycling according to Google

Sustrans Edinburgh to Berwick followed by Pennine Cycle Way to Derby.

I'd buy cheap train tickets up north and take it from there.
