Looking for ideas for next year - I'm planning on two or three 24-hr events and a couple of TrailQuests ... but also looking for ideas for a big weekend ride with a couple of mates. Something similar to Trans-Cambrian (which we did this May) ... ride, pub, ride, pub etc
...though we are travelling from Worcestershire so don't want to spend too much riding time stuck in a car!
We'd thought about a Manx epic? Or open to suggestions ...
Any ideas or experiences to share please?

Have you considered doing 24 hr abroad? The 24doce is usually quite eventful.

That looks interesting - though we may get the 'pass-out' easier if closer to home?

Come and do the Welsh Ride Thing at the end of May (although I think it'll be the start of June next year). 3 days out in the Welsh hills, with plenty of adventure/suffering for those who want it 😉

Ah, the Welsh Ride could be a contender.
Any other similar events or other big routes? Either organised events or just a route to take on - I quite like the idea of a coast-to-coast including Exmoor and Dartmoor...anyone done similar?

Have you considered mountain mayhem. Should be easy for you to get to and some say it's the best endurance event. As for trips, I did the transcambrian route this year. Great scenery but full of sheep sh#t

QED sounds good. Big hills, real ale and proper food!
Does a formal route exist (with gpx or similar) or should I look to cobble something together off OS or local books http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/sw_england_routes.htm

????

I've always just fancied riding all 3 areas in 3 days. There's no formal route or anything, although I could provide maps for good routes in all 3 areas (it's my local riding). I'm sure there's a local guide/company that offers it as a package.

If I ever get around to doing it, I'll just drive home after each day. There's an abundance of decent accommodation in Devon though.

Looks like QED could be ideal

You mentioned TrailQuests over 3 days ago and he's not piped up yet

Does anyone know if he's OK? 😀

I would try something in Wales, dunno what as I've only ever ridden at one trail centre there, can't remember which it was though! Was near Dolgellau.

Yeah we did Trans-Cambrian (crossing Wales) earlier this year. Wouldn't rule out another big Welsh trip, just looking for wider ideas?
