I reckon so. Should be able to do a lift for one, from the west of the city.

Think StevenMenmuir moved.

Think everyone's hibernating.

I'm tempted but seeing as I'm heading to Applecross/Torridon for a dirty weekend I should probably get all my kit together on Thursday night. And I may well need every bit of bike clothing I own for it.

Thursday IS nice Menmuir, it's between Shittymiddleoftheweek and OMGIT'STHEWEEKEND!

Look at this forecast>

Also applies to GT.

My dad has a shirt you can borrow.

TBC is confirmed out.

Worth noting now i've never actually been to GT/Inners on a bike.

Someone just point and i'll go "that way".

I was at GT on Sunday and the trails were in great nick. That'd probably be my choice as I don't want to wrap myself round a tree at Inners just before a rare weekend away to the best riding in the country.

Update.
I am so rock n roll spent the evening in the rain fixing guttering then weeded and scraped moss from the odd bit at the side of the house.
Tomorrow night I am making bunting and stuff for a party at the end of the month.

On Thursday night I hope to be painting my bathroom. If this doesn't happen it will happen on Friday and I will spend Thursday night fixing the porch roof instead.

Once again I think you will find I am the coolest person you know.

I don't want to be married. Tell me it gets better than bunting everybody.

Not being disingenuous in the least but do you need an extra hand with D.I.Y?

Quicken the whole process up ergo more-time-on-the-bikeage?

So, back to mis-spending ma' yout' breda.

As it stands, i'm going in the Northwind mobile, Rick's in and Steve's coming if there's minimal chance of injury.

Who else can we pester?

Well, Northy's at Heriot Watt, you're at Holiday Inn and i'm at the Haile's Odeon (in the nice bit with electric fences).

Survey says Hermiston Gait but I don't drive so blah.

Feel quite shit now, 25, no job, no car, just bought a BMX and am taking a trials bike to a trail centre wearing brand new POC sheez.

Dear me.

Is "making bunting" code for something else....

Time at Hermiston Gate... I'm hoping for a sweet release at the holiday inn, 5 ish... HG 5:30 ish... ?

Oh, balls, time...

I have no concept of time. Normal people conclude daily business around... 5.30?

I got a "sweet release" at a Holiday Inn once, was a consequence to "fluffy pillows".

We're probably going to do all this again tomorrow but 5:30 in the carpark throwing shapes at Halfords.. ?

Oh, and it its wet/muddy/bumpy/uphill/windy/outside then i'm not going.... so basically indoors, warm and dusty.... nothing else will do... just thought I'd mention it, like...

Right so, we'll repeat this tomorrow with the tag-alongs who check the forum at work/at breakfast/in-between-Edinburgh-roadworks....

If it's dry, and we're all up for pinning it in clement-conditions with 0% injury-risk and everyone wants to encourage my GT cherry popping then good.

Halfords. 5.30. Thursday.

Have we agreed on GT? Yes....we have!

Edit: Rick/Northwind, if it happens, first come first serve for taking me.

Wow, looks like I'm late to this party!

Count me in, can be at GT ready to ride at 6.30 if that's not too late. If you're planning to be off by then I can drive to the top car park and see you there.

Was there last night. It's wet as would be expected but again as would be expected from GT it's solid underneath.

TBC - that's the second time you've used the painting the bathroom excuse, just get it done already!!

Will be coming straight from Livingston from work so would struggle to do any pick ups but plenty of room in the van for the way back.

Emm, how long does it take to drive to GT weather behaving?

If rickmeister doesn't run me over first for being a twerp, Northwind's kindly providing my lift.

What trails shall we do?

With it being holiday traffic you'll be 40-50 minutes from H.Gait. I shouldn't be much behind you as long as I get away on time.

Will be in a silver Transit, if I'm not there by 6.30 don't wait and I'll try to catch you at the top car park.

I prefer mixing and matching routes but absolutely easy. If you've never been before I'd say Spooky Woods and Berm Baby Berm (a few times) would be on the must do list. There will be people going who know hidden options, not sure how these will hold up to the rain, but one I want someone to show me the start of is the Enduro descent that ends up back in Peebles! Good thing about GT is route plans can be made/changed on the way round very easily depending what people fancy and how they're feeling.

Afternoon Steve... I think I know the Enduro descent you are on about... goes out behind the green to the bottom of the Hydro... maybe leave a van there or something for the drivers... If its the one I'm thinkink of its a clarty one,

*think* being, I was there once with Naomi...

That's the one Rick. Might not be the right night for it but hoping someone could point me in the right direction! Does sound like you'd have to ride it to find it though rather than general directions.

Not a problem if it's not tomorrow, as long as I'm out on my bike I'll be happy. Better get the stuff in the wash from last night sharpish though, 5 10s might not be dry by then!!

Left there around 8.30 last night, no need for lights at that point, was fairly light on the way up the road (apart from the grey clouds) so gambling that I won't need any tomorrow!!

Snapped a spoke, it's going for an emergency fix & true early doors.

So much for a quiet "practice" ride.

What's this about the Hervelo lot? Fell out with Facebook many moons ago.

Hokay, weather forecast's slightly less good than it was but still decent.
Cfinnimore, I'm on andrew@blackjack.f9.co.uk or 07796896173- though that's 02 so it's borked just now. I'll be in a dark grey mondeo estate with an attractive garnish of scrapes and dents.

And the Fort descent is ace but it's also very slippy when it's been wet, easy to find but not sure how up for it everyone will be.

Smashin' Northwind, details saved.

chris.finnimore at gmail dot com, should it be needed.

I'll be on the commuter train Waverley> Edinburgh park for 5.30 as dictated by spokey emergency.

Outside Halfords? You'll recognise me as the person with the bike least-appropriate for intended shredding, but it's fastas**** so that's a winner.

Slippy when wet?
Like.
High chance of carnage?
Like.

Black T5... will we have more cars than bikes?

See you tomorrow... what could possibly go wrong, how hard can it be etc etc...

Thursday is indeed the 12th Nick. I'm displaying a phenomenal amount of stupid on many levels today.

Mute, 'course you can come. I've never been to GT either as it happens.

Think the plan is-as of midnight Wed- meet at Halfords at Hermiston Gait for 5.30 or if that's crap for you, meet at GT.

A better informed person than I-regulars- should be able to fill you in on the how's/when's should that be the case.

Looking forward to tomorrow's smooth run of events!

The Peel car park was closed on Tuesday night for resurfacing, how about we say the bottom car park (first one as you come off the road)?

Think the Peel was due to reopen today but maybe better to arrange a meeting point that's guaranteed to be open?

Bring it on, can't wait to get out the office already! And apologies in advance for making you wait at the top of every climb!!

Neeeeigh.. the scream of pain when I went to do cool-down-stretches went like this:

"CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMP, OH YOU FKR, CRAAAAMP!

All stretched out and sodium-tablet resolved.

I look forward to more inappropriately-biked, ridiculous climbs. Between Puke Hill, the Midlothian Loop and tonights bonanza, i've lost a cumulative stone in weight just dickin' about with you lot.

Shame Crombies pies and Granny's cake ruin it.

Yeah great work on getting that bike round tonight! Shame it was a single berm baby berm ride as that was where your bike excelled!

Good work for our comedy crashes too, 1 into a post and one on a slow climb corner but I'm not mentioning them!! Oops...

Got home and the guy wanted a test drive and to buy my can there and then, had planned to eat when I got in but was too late once crap was cleared out and car was sold 🙁

Cheers guys, especially for showing me that descent!!

Car sold, happy face...

And so to bed. Next chapter, dusty trails.
