Hi All

Looking to book an uplift at Inners, i have heard however that bikes can sustain damage when being transported, as my bike is only a few weeks old and we're still in "honey-moon" period what precautions should i take to avoid inflicting any unnecessary damage?

Cheers

Nick

a) cycle up the hill
b) go somewhere else

Seriously, if you stack a pile of bikes together - with all those pointy-out bits - then you're not really gonna be able to prevent some light scratching (at least). I assume it's a DH bike, in which case it'll pretty soon be looking a bit rough and tatty anyway 🙂

lol - harsh but perhaps fair

wrap inner tubes round EVERYTHING...and watch out for other folks flat pedal pins rubbing in the middle of your frame.

They did do their best with mine since it's a tarty 5 incher not a manly smashed up dh bike but it still picked up a few decent scratches. But you don't buy an axe then worry about it getting blunt when you use it.

(there was a wee lad with an islabikes thing on that last one, just doing caddon bank with his dad all day, and they really looked after that for him, very cool of them)

It's not a bad uplift for damage compared to some. Stack carefully watching where pedals are and make sure the bike 2 after yours doesn't have it's brake lever on your top tube.

The simplest protection is to wrap tube around the fork lowers, top tube and rear triangle bits if you're really worried.

Last time I was there the guys loaded the bikes for you and always did a good job, unlike many numpty punters. Other than that use heli-tape, but dont expect miracles.

is this Up lift Scotland?
They also do Ae
They use a trailer [at Ae] and there is a big gap between bikes more likely to dmage it crasghing no real risk of damage on transporter morte likely to srcratch it getting it there
