I haven't been to Innerleithen for many years and my riding has changed a lot in the mean time.

Thinking of warming up with the xc loop (red) then hitting up some of the although trails off the top. So long as they're steep and techy rather than having mahoosive jumps in we'll enjoy them!

Are the Golfie trails easy to find if (maybe in a couple of weeks) we wanted to have a crack at those?

GOlfy is easy to find trails, not always necessarily quite so easy to find the exact trail you were looking for 🙂 But if you just spin up the forest road that comes up from behind the golf clubhouse, and keep an eye out on the sides you'll soon see the lower trails. And further up, just look out for the right moment to climb up to the reservoir. Strava's a help.

Windy as **** just now I suspect though!

Inners "enduro" stuff is mostly easy to find, the downhill is all nicely trailbikable but you get a bit more duration from the enduro stuff- alistair lees and mince baby mince and the like.

I rode the golf course trails first time this week and they were a piece of cake to find. The only slight confusion was to turn left and go straight up the hill by the footpath sign which points down the hill. I printed off the strava heat map of the area which helped.

Cheers for the tips. There's plenty marked on Trail Forks including some of those 'Enduro trails' you've mentioned.

The DH runs might be a bit more of a step-up than I imagined. 8ft drop of Matador? Maybe not this weekend. 😆

Matador is different from the others in being wide, straight, jumpy + with drops. The others are very much in the Golfie vein.

Matador drops aren't as big as they say unless you're carrying speed, but still big enough to **** yourself 😆 Ironically the bigger one's easier, it has better sightlines, the first one you turn onto and it has more of a horizon going on so it intimidates a bit more. They do have chicken lines though.

I like top and middle matador, quite a different feel, it loses a lot of height later on without a lot of reward so I tend to switch onto the other trails for the last bit. But tbh if I was at the top of matador on a trailbike, 9/10 times it's because I'm going to the ali lees (which starts 10 feet away) or one of the others

Middle Make or Break and double d are pretty much just jumps and berms , fine if you like that sort of thing.

Sweet. Think we'll do the xc to get some distance in then go explore Golfie tomorrowor the other Inners trails.
