Quick question for those in the know. Is there now a cafe at the Inners base, is it OK and will it be open tomorrow? First uplift so don't want to use time going into town!

There isn't, but No.1 Cafe is on the high street immediately before the turn-off for the DH carpark and is great. It's also about 45 seconds cycle from the car park.

Well they sell coffee and burgers at the uplift cabin but its pretty average, as mentioned you are far better riding to the bottom of the street to No.1 cafe and getting the real deal.

At a shuttle day just before Xmas and guys were asking if you wanted to order food and have it delivered from No 1 cafe to the ticket hut

Or you could take a break and drive to caddonfoot cafe in walkerburn or nashy's in cardrona, actually both are an easy pedal and although not part of the scene they are both pretty good.

Location is everything though . No1 works because of its proximity. If you have to drive its already a pain in the arse especially if you have shelled out for an uplift day.

If it's fully booked and all the buses are running you can do 11/12 runs if you get straight down and back up and don't hang about in the car park

Take food with you and eat on the uplift between runs to keep you going.

The uplifts don't stop for lunch (they must stagger drivers lunch breaks) so you'll miss lifts if you do.

On quieter days though, with less buses, it seems to run slower which reduces your runs but gives more time to eat and chill...

I prefer the busy days for maximum runs 👍

Loullabels is a great wee cafe
Only a couple of minutes along the road from No1
Quite homely and great staff

Cheers all. Ended up at Loullabels- very bike friendly. They even had a supply of padlocks and lock rings on the wall. No1 was full even at 11.55.
Adrenalin do an order/take out service from No 1 to the cabin but miniLD wanted to go to a proper cafe! 8 laps with sit down lunch felt about right for a first time on uplift.

Went to Loulabelles when I hit the Golfie last year, that big breakfast set me right up for the day!
