You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello all.
Has anyone used the Innerleithen uplift?
Is it worth the money (32) or should I ride the trails at Glentress.
I am only there for 3 days so want to get the best out of my time there.
Many thanks.
Do both, and also ride the Golfie.
The disadvantage of uplift is that you will only ride the trails coming down the front of the hill. These trails are excellent though but the issue I find is that unless there is a way tapped up there are so many trails crossing one another it can be tricky to get a good flow down the hill as you are constantly seeing different trails to take.
As br says, ride the Golfie!
Riding a DH bike? Use the uplift.
Riding anything but a DH bike? Pedal, or trying and get on a single lift to skip your first climb
Yeah, used it many times, it's good. The trailers they use now take really good care of your bike, it's great value imo- I just ask myself, would I ride to the top 9 times for £32? 😆 And the trails speak for themselves.
I suppose the downsides... It doesn't go all the way to the top, you've still got a short push/ride up to the top of the trails if you want to do the full hill. (this is to balance out Bike Park Wales' uplift that doesn't start at the bottom). No big deal really.
Don't know if you know the hill? Innerleithen if you don't already know it is confusing, trails everywhere, the signage hasn't kept up with the digging at all. But if you know the hill at all it's OK and a local'll always be around to help. It's a shame that it doesn't integrate too well with the red route, so it doesn't have the range of difficulty options that say FOD or BPW have- just the shape of the trails.
There's still a bit of waiting around- the new buses and trailers are faster than the truck and bus but it's not a BPW or Antur where you just jump on the next bus. Also means, you don't want to miss it! Which slightly limits your options, it's a thrash if you want to ride the longer trails and not miss the bus.

Not really, you do need to move if you want to do the full classic or say doggy bag to prospacker or something but it's doable. Especially with the last-before-lunch and last runs.
Yep, uplift one day, golfie the next, Glentress Enduro trailfest the next.
Get yourself a guide Ie. A local or draw up a map from strava, or ask in the many bike shops for some help finding trails.
Try the Trialforks app. We used it the other week to find the Golfie trails. Inners and Glentress are also covered extensively.
Also if it's dry, take 1/2 day at Thornielee (15 mins from Inners) - also on Trailforks.
I'll sometimes spend half the day peddling at Inners then hop on an uplift or two in the afternoon when my legs are tired.
After lunch there is always space on the bus and last time I did it, it was £5 per single uplift.
