I have a friend with Diverge gravel bike. Its a base spec and has some cable discs. I think they are Tektro, but im not certain. They have one static brakepad, and the brake cable moves the other pad.
The brake cable outer slots into the caliper, but there is no threaded adjuster to accommodate brake wear on the moving pad. The wear on the static pad is compensated for by winding the adjuster in the back of the caliper.
So, i have to take up wear bu unclamping and reclamping the brake cable. Its a huge faff.
Can i install a gear cable inline adjuster? Or is there something better?
Thanks
Ian
Is there really no adjuster on the other side? Seems bonkers. Unless it's designed to be used to be used with an inline cable adjuster and somehow got assembled without one, in which case, that's what you'll need.
Or are you asking whether a gear cable adjuster will do as you can't find a brake cable adjuster? Not sure it will. Gear outer's usually 4mm outer, brake's usually 5mm.
Avid do them with their BB5, I think planet X stock them.
