What's the best technique? Core out, then can I just pour some in (I am using a small syringe with no nozzle) with this get through the remaining valve on the inside? Do I need a stans injector thing? Also I read somewhere the wheel should be at an angle? Any advice appreciated before I redecorate the floor

Unseat a section of tyre.....poor in.....pop tyre back on.
Job jobbed.

My procedure is-

Seat tyre.
Remove value core.
Use a small syringe to add Stan's sealant.
Re-inflate tyre.
Do the shaky bit.
Job jobbed.

Deoends if your scuttering about in the dark ages using a track pump to seat em.

For me its mount one side, mount other side 3/4 - squirt sealant straight in from bottle , mount rest of bead

Stick compressor fitting on and squeeze trigger. Instant inflation first time every time.

Similar results to be had from an airshort or similar device i would guess.

yup small syrunge and a small bit of tubing with the valve core removed here too. Sometimes tyres are quite hard to get on and off and this method is less faff it seems to me. I use an old brake bleed syringe.

Seat tyres by inflating then deflating.
Take valve core out.
Put Stans into the squeezey bottle you can buy it in from the big 2ltr bottle I have.
Pour through valve core.
Put core back in.
Inflate tyre again.
Go riding.
The unseating tyre bead and pouring directly in also works but I have heard plenty of horror stories from my LBS of the tyres exploding off the rims and covering the workshop in white gunk...and to the extent that one of the mechanics will leave the workshop if anyone is setting up a tubeless tyre using this method. 😛

take valve out use the stans injector straight into valve core, job done. I used to take a bit of tyre off but this is way easier

if the tyre is already seated and has been for some while and its just about topping up fluid then its remove valve core, have one of their small bottles and fill it (its the right measure for one tyre) and then pour it in the hollow valve, replace core and inflate.

DrP actually does use a syringe through the sidewall but I don't believe he cooks the stans in a spoon first, you never know though.

pour sealant into tyre
fit tyre to wheel
remove valve core
attach lemonade bottle (or fire extinguisher for fat bike tyres)
Blast tyre onto rim
Bounce wheel until air stops escaping
Remove inflation device and put finger over valve to stop air escaping
Remove finger and screw in valve core quickly
Connect track pump and add more air to tyre until the bead seats (if not already seated).
More shaking and bouncing to make sure
Deflate to required pressure
Go for a ride

I asked for some syringes from the Mrs for Christmas. Available on ebay for buttons, but not in shops, and extremely useful for this and also for servicing forks.

I used to add it via the bead but now use the valve core. Somewhat easier.

I think DrP of this forum injects it through the carcass?

me?

Through the valve with a wee stans on shot bottle I reuse.

I think he was asking for the easiest way...

core out and syringe.

The wee Stans bottles are perfect for squirting it through the valve once the core is removed.

The Stan's syringe works a treat; you can also improvise something with a large syringe and a bit of tubing and save yourself a lot of hassle.

How can you inject it through the sidewall if you're expecting the particles to block a puncture x mm wide?

I use the valve out method, a bit of tube that is tight fit on the valve and squirt in direct from the big Stan's bottle or from a big vet's syringe. Valve at 4 or 8 o clock if the tyre hasn't previously sealed fully.

This.

It also does a great job sooking out the fluid during tyre swaps for reuse...

Core out, then a 50ml luer fit syringe, works fab!

The syringe for bleeding a Reverb Stealth is ideal for screwing into the valve with the core removed. After a few warranty replacement seat-posts I seem to have collected a few bleed kits.

Admittedly I actually usually just use two tyre levels to pop a bit of the bead out and pour in fluid from the bottle.

The advantage of using a bit of tubing is you can pinch it and measure the quantity first, as opposed to having the goop flow into the valve while you pour it.

The wee bottles of stans are pretty perfect- just cut the nozzle so that it slides over a valve. That way you can inject it into presta, schrader or straight into the tyre (which I'd usually do, but doesn't work so well with my fatbike lashup)

i have the smaller bottles with the pointy nozzle. they came with the conversion kit. i pour the sealant into each of these bottles (60ml) and then remove the valve core and squirt/pour it in. i used schrader valves so its easier to get it in through the valve without spillage occurring.
that way there's no need to unseat the bead from the rim and then having to peel part of the tyre off and then put it back on and re-seat it. takes only a few minutes to do it like this.
i've also seen a video where someone uses a large hypodermic syringe filled with sealant...basically shoves the needle through the tyre and injects it in. the sealant then seal the hole in the tyre.

Core out and small bottle of Stans is my SOP. It very usefully provides a decent measure as well. I refill the bottle from the large Stans bottle when done. A syringe is not necessary.

Yet another +1 for the little squeezy bottle
It makes it such a simple process.

If you do use a needle and syringe, make sure there's no/minimal pressure in the tyre.
You'll struggle to fight against 30psi with a syringe.
And it'll blow the plunger out.
And you'll look like Debbie. From Dallas. Post shoot.

Anyone using one of the medical syringes like you'd use for giving calpol to a kid? I've got a few lying about.

If it's a top up I always use the small Stan's bottle through the valve stem. If it's a new tyre then the liquid caps that come with washing liquid bottles are great for pouring the correct measures in fast just before I put the last bit of bead on

I eventually got some smallish syringes in eBay. Core our nozzle in (nicely past the threaded section) inject the right amount in then stick the core back in. Way easier than unseating a tyre
