Hoping some one can point me in the right direction as I've no idea where to start

Wants :

It will be small and sitting on the inside windowsill looking directly out onto the front drive (there are no obstructions and the window sill is quite high)

Doesn't need a subscription Im basically wanting it to log into when I'm not there for a live view rather than recording so want to be able to login on my phone and see it live?

Also I can't run it on a mains as there is no socket to plug in, which is fine I have tonnes of rechargeable batteries or will buy some if need be

WiFi will be readily accessible in the same room

So not so much for security but for more live viewing as and when I want to check

Any ideas a quick Google has literally thrown up thousands of items

I have two ring cameras I use for live check in, I like them because they are hd quality, they notify me when they are activated. Plus I can speak to someone via my phone. ( mine are outside btw). They have an indoor camera for your exact purpose

Interesting sounds like it could well be a good choice

Is there a subscription though to that ideally don't want to be paying a monthly subscription, as its purely just for my own viewing not so much for out right security purposes

Aye, I'd like something like that, but preferably motion activated. Does night vision work okay from inside Windows?.

No subscription for live viewing and the night viewing is great.

Brilliant cheers

I've seen the stick up one which runs on lithium battery so easily rechargeable

Is it motion sensored too or is that with a subscription?

I just basically want to login my phone and see whats happening every now and then through the week and at weekends if we're away

Yes motion detection activated just load app on phone , get a notification that there’s movement and open app for live viewing. Gets second battery while one charges you pop the other one in. Precisely what I used it for while in the USA on holiday over Xmas and New Year

Yeh I need the battery version as I don't have a socket near the windowsill sadly or I'd likely get that one as it's cheaper

Least with the battery one (which is identical bar the cable) I can move it freely around if need be

But Yeh gonna order one so many thanks for your input wouldn't have had a clue and it looks exactly what I'm after

the neos https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neos-SmartCam-Vision-Camera-Warranty/dp/B07JY7K3SZ can be run from a battery pack

you may even be able to connect it up to a solar panel or something

I use Neos smartcam for this, although not tried on battery. You get motion alerts (although these are fairly crude) to your phone, live view, 12s clips stored in the cloud for a few days without a subscription. If you put a microSD card in it will record continuously to that too. Pay a few quid a month for more features/storage.

They say "A 10000mAh power bank will power your Neos SmartCam for ~16 hours, and a 20000mAh power bank will power Neos SmartCam for ~33 hours." - so probably not good for leaving on during a holiday. You can get kits with very long micro USB cables (think the one I used for my garage camera was 10m) to make it easier to reach a power socket.

@petec that Neos is stunning value I don’t have an indoor camera but that fits the bill to keep an eye on the dogs while I’m out. Cheers 👍
