Hi all

First dabble on here for sometime! so hello and merry Christmas

Just seeing if anyone has any advice for me

I'm working in India early April for 10 days and want to build in a day off mountain biking if possible! I'm staying in Dehradun, Uttarakhand which is near Mussoorie in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Most of the guided rides I can find are min 4 days, and by some of the pics they don't look like proper mountain biking anyway. My issue might be the fact that I only have 1 day, maybe with an overnight stop at a push....

Has anyone been to this area roughly or have any contacts? Any help appreciated

I will ask - I was born in Mussourie and lived near Deradun as a young child, plus I've sister and family living in south India, father has friends.

You may not find a professional guide, but I bet there are a few local riders...

Might be worth contacting http://www.mountainbikekerala.com While they are at the wrong end of the country, they might know of some operating up there which could help... maybe?

Brother in law says he doesn't know any, but if you're ever in Ootacamund he will give you a nice road and MTb day out....
Waiting on a friend of friend in Mussoorie for more, but they're not cyclists so I'm not holding my breath....

I rode the Pindari Glacier trail when i was a bit younger and a lot fitter. Good riding! I was following hiking trails (there are alot listed) and the riding was good. I rode it on a singlespeed however, I was a broken man by the end.

Pindari might be a bit far for a single day however.
