I'm looking to increase the travel from 100mm to 120mm, i had it reduced when bought to 100mm to try the lowest, but want to try 120mm now. So i've gone to look at the tokens i have and for some reason, after having it reduced from 150 to 100, i've got 2 x grey tokens, am i getting it wrong and this fork doesn't change travel via the tokens (pic also has the air cap from my sektor), or have i got the wrong tokens now, i'm guessing i need black, are they easy to get hold off?
I think you have it wrong.
Grey (or red, depends on 32 or 35mm) bottomless tokens are usually added or removed as travel is altered but are there to change the ramp up characteristics by altering the volume in the air chamber. They don’t change travel.
Newer RS forks all change travel by swapping the air shaft (easy to do but does mean dropping the lowers and needs a bit of patience with the circlip pliers). Older RS forks (up to 2015?) used ‘all travel spacers’ on the 32mm forks which clipped on the air shaft and could only take travel away from a fork. Not sure how old your Sektors are, but from memory 50mm sounds too big an adjustment for the old skool travel spacers (I think 30mm was tops) so you probably need a replacement airshaft. Easy enough to get hold of, probably cost you just over £30...
