Maybe I'm going crazy, or I'm misreading this - but from a review I've just come across:

Because of the super-slack head angle there’s no need to run the 150mm RockShox Yari fork overly firm, and with the recommended 25 per cent sag, the frame pitches forward more than normal, which in turn increases the reach measurement.

Can anyone explain this? Surely fork pressure has zero impact on reach?

Well I can't see how a change in fork pressure can alter the length of a top tube either.

I can't think of a way to explain it without pictures but yes it will and reach isn't top tube length.

For speaking the truth?

Since I put a Works -2 deg headset on my bike I've taken to running the fork a bit softer than before. Why? Because without the angleset I liked the extra slackness from having more shock than fork sag. Now it's so slack already I don't need to do that - and with more fork sag the bike feels longer when I stand up.

It's not as if that sort of argument is confined to here though. Without these sorts of discussions most forums (and pubs etc) would be like the internet without porn or kittens, no less functional but largely empty.

I'm nearly already confused but yes the reach will increase........but then that's nothing new it's always been that way.

Does it matter, will you notice, I very much doubt it.

Maybe on a HT but on a FS.....I mean, ooo my arms extended a few mm, my arse moved, my legs bend, ankles bend, cranks move, the ground is rocky....and so on. It would have to be a very big change to matter.

would the lower pressure be to assist with weighting the front on a slacker bike? this may be a silly question i know!
