Not seen a ride pics thread for the Christmas>New Year period. If I've missed it, apologies.

A couple of different ones from me:

Boxing Day: trails from the door to Sherwood Pines to have a few cheeky runs on the downhill bit:

Today: a run in the Peaks. Think this was taken around Hope Cross:

Let's see 'em

Took a spin round a local forest on the gravel bike, just looking out for little things that I hadn’t noticed before. No bike in this shot though.

Am jealous. Haven't left the house (or even the sofa really) since Christmas Eve... Would love to get a ride in but not sure my body would thank me right now...

Ice fest of local roads and pavements has precluded most things here and playing by the rules of staying local. Looking at Strava and Insta I appear to be the outlier tho...🙄

I got out on the road for a change yesterday and wee bit of respite from the mud.

A local boxing day ride on the new forks. I hope we get some snow down here, probably won't though.

Cwmcarn and Twmbarlwm yesterday. It wasn't too bad in the valley but once we got above (what's left of) the tree line it was blimmin' freezing.
Good fun with my boy though as I don't get to ride with him very often.

A very cold icy ride this morning, threatening black clouds forming over the Mendips in the background.

Last ride of the year was a cracker.
Modern phone cameras are amazing, these were taken at 6pm!

That looks heavy going @timbo46

I hate riding in the snow when the cassette turns into a conical ice block!

Up early to Cutgate from Langsett. Great to be out in the snow and ice.

Plenty out on the way back, conditions were good up on top.

Risked making myself feel worse again to get in my 'traditional' New Year's Eve ride. Survived and didn't feel too much like death afterwards. Result.

No snow in (my part of) Leeds, but it was bloody freezing this morning. Nice ride though.

Blackhall beach, pretty much frozen solid-

[img] [/img]

and this was just a bit of flat beach about 3 months ago-

[img] [/img]

That's my OH in the background, we used to be able to ride across that bit where he's standing and now there's a geet big river that runs all the way back into Castle Eden dene!

New Year's Day ride to set the tone for the year and blow away any cobwebs. Quite liberating to look for colour again after 2020's self-imposed monochrome rule.

Last ride of 2020 to the top of the Sugar Loaf last night. Was possible to ride large parts of it without lights as the moonlight was so bright. The snow on top had been flattened over the past couple of days by the feet of a million walkers so was like an ice rink. It did, however, ride surprisingly well on the way back down.

@ads678 the second pic is on "The Avenue" - heading towards Temple Newsam from Bullerthorpe Lane direction.
