Yesterday's press relaease

Dawn to Dusk Challenge-Cumbria Sports Clubs Alternative Torch Relay

Follow it @cyclewiseacad

It was great seeing the Olympic Torch travelling through our High
Streets. It had to do that to involve as many people as possible. There was some disappointment that the torch didn't visit
some of the more iconic places in Cumbria. A conversation lead Les
Barker, secretary of Cyclewise Academy youth mountain bike club, to throw down the challenge to other Cumbrian Sports Clubs to create a great day out for a Torch to some of the best parts of our beautiful County.
The challenge was accepted and it is happening tomorrow, Saturday
July 14th. You have a chance to see a hand crafted Torch relayed by
some of Cumbria's greatest Sports Clubs. The Torch was crafted by Kevin Rooney of Whitehaven. It was made from a Cumbrian born and bred deer antler. Cyclewise Academy youth mountain bike club have coordinated the relay with their friends from other sports local clubs. If you want your club represented or you want to know more, then email cyclewiseacademy@gmail.com. Follow the Torch's progress on the day on twitter @cyclewiseacad.

It's a sunrise start, 4:36am at Cyclewise's Bike Shop at Whinlatter
Forest. The idea is to return before the sun goes down at 9:52pm. It
will be close.
