yet another puncture on my commute, made worse as i forgot my type lever

i did manage to get the tyre off eventually using a padlock - the metal loop bit not the body. first attempt was with a travel toothbrush . . . that didn't work!

anyone else resorting to random objects in emergencies

house keys, tesco club card, seat post (that worked well enough for me to accept that as a standard tool)

Small pebble wedged in old style XT mech body to keep it on mid cassette after cable snapped during a ride with no spare in the pack.

QR Skewer works well as a lever, as does grass / twigs / mud for sidewall gash 😯
