Can some one assist me with the best courier service to bring a bike over from the States?

You do realise that Import duty on full bikes is over 14% on the total purchase price and shipping.

Then you'll be charged vat on the purchase price, shipping and import tax.

If you're happy to spend then go with UPS. There are plenty of others that are cheaper but you get what you pay for...

Are you buying from a shop - if that's the case do you have a choice over what courier they use?

Because Trek do not export, they informed me to arange my own courier or to deal with Trek UK. Trrek UK do not have stock of the GF Superly 100 until mid next year. Not waiting that long.

Ive been using USPS with no problems for the last 5 years...must have bought in 7 frames and 2 complete bikes...no problem. Takes 10 days and costs up to $80 for a frame and up to $150 for a whole bike. There are ways to reduce tax to nil as well but I dont want to go public...its easy if you think about it!

Blimey, you've been lucky. While USPS might be okay in my experience it all goes to the dogs when the parcel passes over to Parcel Force when it gets to this country.
