Yes, have found all the general stuff on .GOV, and am fairly sure of the position but want to speak to someone who's done it and get an idea whether my interpretation of what I've read is correct

What country is it made in and what country is it being sent to? The EU taric website is very helpful, you'll also need to check what commodity codes it is being shipped under.

It will depend if its a full bike, ebike or parts of a bike.

Decide what code it is then go here

https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/taric_consultation.jsp?Lang=en

Select originating country and that will tell you if there are import duties to be applied. VAT will be applied in whichever country it is released for sale in based on the value of the goods + the import duty.

Some countries may have an FTA where the rate will be zero, or some countries allow lower rates for fitness equipment..

Your post is way to vague. It depends what country the bikes are coming from, where they are going to, how they are being shipped. Exporting from China has completely different rules to Taiwan. Taiwan has different rules to Cambodia etc!

There is no one rule for all here, it depends on your specific situation / question.

I can try if you want to PM and can give me some idea of who/what/why, within reason. I work for a company bringing in bikes and P+A from across a wide range of duty areas and have some experience of where it gets more complex with Originating/Non-originating rules.

When I was doing this it was 4.8% on bike parts and 15% on complete bikes from North America. Duty was paid on the cost of the goods and shipping/carriage and then VAT was added on top of that total. In addition, if you get products shipped by a courier and expect them to pay the duty to get the goods released by HM Customs you can expect to pay an additional fee on each shipment along with the duty and VAT.

To the UK (post Brexit) will the import duty still be 4.8% on bike parts and 15% on complete bikes from North America?
And what are (will they be) the taxes and duties direct from Taiwan too please
