Has anyone else had the connection between their Magic Mouse and iMac crash repeatedly? I rang applecare and they sent me a brand new mouse, but this one's doing the same thing. Connection is 'Lost', then reappears if I wait a couple of minutes and click. I'm beginning to think there's a problem with the iMac, unless the chaos on my desk, or some dust, is somehow interfering with the connection. Already tried new batteries. Any ideas? Ta.

Have you tried the Mac discussion forums? They are usually pretty helpful. Otherwise ring Apple again.

Cheers Capt - can you recommend a particular Mac forum? I'm new to this game. Ta.

Try this:

Navigate to Macintosh HD>library>preferences.

Delete com.apple.bluetooth.plist

Restart

Once rebooted make the mouse a favourite by going to:

System preferences > bluetooth.

Highlight the mouse in the left pane and click on the little gear thing and select add to favorites.

If your car blows up as a result of the above I am not responsible etc 😉

Cheers Jamie, will give it a go. And my car's an old wreck - I'd be stoked if it blew up.

May I also recommend http://magicprefs.com/ - it gives a lot of feedback about what's happening and allowed me to diagnose a few problems I was having. It also give you many more features...
