If you bring them in you will only make them soft. Mine only get in doors if someone has attempted to take the garage roof off to gain access to the bikes.

You might be fine with a garage, but... I had to replace two brake calipers a couple of years ago because both started leaking through the seals; I'm convinced it was the super cold temperatures in the super cold shed that did it.
*coughs* All of Binners bikes are in the house as is mine its very cold in Ramsbottom and they like 'Homes under the Hammer'.....

I sometimes bring mine inside overnight if I'm going for an early ride. This is to make sure the suspension seals arn't cold and hard. I blew a fork seal once because it was frozen.

Nowt wrong with having bikes inside, doing it because you're 'worried about them being a bit cold' is less good.
Mines always in the Kitchen, just means i HAVE to wash it before it comes back in. Which I dont mind apart from the late winter night rides.

Ours are also indoors, 'in their own room' - would have been a home office but conversion work (leaky old concrete flat roof, concrete floored, plaster falling off walls workshop) took too long so I set up business in a little shop instead..
It's nice to have plenty of warm space to manoeuvre when fettling. Nothing like as spacious or well appointed as FS's man-cave though - heck , he's even got 2 track pumps!
Handily, however, it is accessed by passing through the kitchen, this means passing by (with occasional stops) the fridge 🙂
Our garage is next to the kitchen, so slightly warmer in there. Our bikes have had more attention than myself from hubby in the last 3 days 🙂

I live in a one bed flat. my bike lives in my kitchen 🙂
I had to replace my external Hollowtech BB recently. The guy in the shop said it had seized up because of a mixture of not riding it and being in a cold place.
I haven't done much about the not riding part, but I have brought it into the warmth of the house to keep cosy.
My bikes live inside... only so they don't get nicked 😡

Four of my bikes live inside, two live outside, but I warned both of them when I bought them that they would be "outside" bikes and not to expect to be mollycoddled. I think if you do it from Day 1 then they get used to it and toughen up - possibly they even enjoy being hard. I'm sure I hear them sneering and taking the p1ss out of the sissy soft indoor bikes.
Anyhoo, bikes are lovely to look at I think, to me they are works of art. I mean, who wants to look at some ugly miserable bird on a drab dreary background when you can admire your beautiful bicycle?
It looks like FS's man cave has a lot of shelves for shoes - may be it's a person cave

Last year in the freezing weather when it was getting down to -12 my old man left bike in the shed. Completely clean, all lubed up [he even dries it with a garden vac type thing - anal I know]. Anyway, both the front and rear brakes froze and buggered the calipers! Had to get new brakes from a shop. Freak issue I don't know but he's got his mtb in his spare room at the moment

C_G - thanks for asking - I'm improving all the time, still on painkillers every day though. I tried to dump them but can't manage without them at the moment. I'm in a lot less pain, some days no pain at all!

Oh PL-EEEAASE! Make them man up. Mtbs must be ridden hard and treated tough :D....even road bikes hanker for dirty treatment. All of my stable have ALWAYS lived in the brick shed or garage. My Nanolight is currently in the (heated) conservatory but ONLY as she is on the work stand still being born. Umbilical chord should get cut tomorrow am and she'll be straight out the door for a thrashing! Cold? Pff! Get 'em warm through ridng!
Karin - well that's good. 8) Is there anyway you could manage on Neurofen/Ibuprofen? Do you not get side effects with strong pain killers? I bet you're still riding!!
Still no date for op but it should be this month, will be 4 months since I saw consultant. I am pootling, was even riding in -8.5 degrees this morning!
Side effects = sometimes itching and constipation so not too bad. I prefer the side effects of Tramadol to the side effects of NSAIDs. Yes, still riding. Cycling didn't cause it, doesn't worsen it, actually the movement helps, makes me feel good and takes my mind off it. Sitting down all day at work kills me though 🙁

Ones in its room, previously the spare room. The other is in the kitchen. They have a perfectly good shed with shelves and lighting and everything but thieving ferkars like the shed also.
I'm convinced the cold ruins the tyres. Also the tiny battery in the power meter.
Karinofnine - I actually like a 'miserable bird on a drab dreary background' lord knows I've been out with enough! Though after reading this I may kick the latest one out and bring the bike inside instead. Do you think she will survive the weather? she did originate in warmer climes.
I don't keep the bikes warm all the time, but I did stick the fan heater on for an hour to dry them off after a hot water wash the other day. I also went soft and brought the forks into the kitchen for servicing, much more comfortable than working on freezing cold bits of metal.
My bike currently lives in a utility room, to save me working on it with cold hands.
This may actually be preferred by both of us.
Mine always leans against the back of the sofa in the lounge.
I like to caress it in the evenings when I'm watching TV.
