My father in law has just been told that he will never be able to ride a bike again which has hit him quite hard. He retired last year and treated himself to this bike and I said that I would try and shift it for him so its not a constant reminder of better times.

He became ill shortly after having this built so it has done less than 100 miles and is in great condition. I know I would get more by splitting it but with a move to Scotland very soon I'm not sure I will have the time.

I also don't want the risk of sticking it on ebay with no reserve to find the market price.

Its a 2016 Croix De Fer Reynolds 725 frame (54cm) with the carbon forks, it currently set up as a flat bar tourer with a Rohloff 500-14 speedhub.

Any advice would be really useful as I don't know how to price this one.

P.S. this is not a stealth ad, unless one of you wants to buy it in which case it is 😉

Typically the rohloff stuff is going for about £1200 on ebay but it hangs around a lot. If you want to sell the rohloff it might be worth pming me.

Thanks, I’ve trawled eBay and it seems anything with a Rohloff is as you say pitched around the £1,200 mark. That seems quite high to me though.

Obviously I want to get as much as I can for Dad, but I also don’t want to be unrealistic with my pricing.

Agreed, that's what it should be worth give or take but it's proper niche and finding someone happy to spend that sort of money on a non performance bike might take a while. Perfect commute or everyday bike and tourer for someone who apreciates quality. I'd put it on ebay as a buy it now but be prepared to relist again and again. Not sure if there is classifed similar to here for this kind of bike.

Considering a good second hand Rohloff setup goes for £600-700 then I think £1100-1200 is probably about right.

You might sell it easier by selling the Rohloff abd bike seperately. You could relatively easily fit another rear wheel and get £500 for the bike on it's own.
